This accident was entirely due to wilful disregard of Special Rules and notices posted up on the haulage road. He was walking outbye along the side of a self-acting incline having a gentle gradient, when he apparently got on to a set to ride down the incline. On reaching a portion of the incline where there was only a clearance of 6 inches between the tubs and the roof he was crushed against two girders and balks and killed.
