19 January 1922: John Moore (15) pithead worker, Fallin, was yesterday caught by a revolving shaft in connection with the washing plant at the pithead, and killed [Glasgow Herald 20 Jan 1922] On Surface – By Machinery – He went inside the fencing to sweep the top of the riddles whilst the machine was in motion and his coat was caught by a revolving shaft.
