Deceased and his son were engaged in enlarging a main intake airway and had set a stay next the roof in order to support some side stone which they did not wish to get down during the shift, the road being used as a travelling road. Deceased was squaring hack the side for another stay, when several feet of side stone suddenly came away and displaced the stay which had been set. He was caught by the fall and was dead when liberated.
