Died 6th February. It was asserted that deceased had strained himself whilst at work but no definite evidence as to this could be obtained. He was taken ill while at work and had to be helped outbye. On being examined by a doctor he was found to be suffering from strangulated hernia and was sent to the Infirmary at Newcastle-on-Tyne where he was operated on but he did not recover. The jury found that he died from strangulated hernia but how it was caused there was evidence to show.
