- He was killed by a cauldron bottom 6 feet long, 4.5 feet wide, and 12 inches thick at its thickest part, falling upon him. When the deputy was in the place, there were four props set along the face; after the accident, one only was there. None were under the fall. He, therefore, had drawn out three of the four props and in this way had caused his own death.
