- Falls in Mines – Falls of Sides – He was stowing redd at the working face, after having fired a shot in the brushing, when a small stone fell off the brushing face and struck him on the head; he was stunned but finished his shift. He worked two shifts after the accident, and tried to work a third, but found he was unable and went home. Some months later he was removed to hospital, where he died of encephalitis on 19th November.
