Deceased was taking an empty tub along the coal face, and as he approached the place where a collier was setting timber a large stone fell from a "pothole" in the roof. Part of the stone struck him on the head inflicting injuries from which he died almost immediately. The fall displaced a roof bar and two props. The "pothole" from which the stone fell measured 6 feet in diameter. 2 killed.
