- Details of Event
- Fall of ground, about 6cwt., from the face of his working place, a stope about 30 feet above the level, where he was at the time engaged filling. The rock, which was given off from a 'Soapy head’ rolled down the slope and struck him. According to the evidence brought before the Coroner, and the statements of the men, the face had been cleaned down and examined after blasting which took place on some days before. It was also stated that the men themselves and the shift boss had examined the place on the night in question, and found it to be apparently sound.
