Deceased was in the waggon road at the bottom of a drift in the Little Mine Coal (inclination 23 degrees). A piece of coal fell from the face, and knocked a post out. It fell over downwards and struck deceased on the head, causing a fracture of the skull, which resulted fatally a few hours afterwards.
