- Deaths By Electric Shock - Deceased was found dead by the side of a coal cutter which he had been working alone. It appears the trailing cable had got caught under the frame of the machine and damaged. The live leads of this cable coming into contact with the machine, he received a shock to earth. The earthing system was found to be in good order, but the earth wire in the trailing cable was severed at the damaged portion and fused on to one of the phase wires of the cable. From the evidence obtained it is clear that the deceased was aware that the cable was caught and damaged, but he persisted in trying to move the coal cutter by its own power.
