Whilst taking a set of four fall tubs down an incline he was run over and fatally injured. He appears to have seen another driver coming along and in his anxiety to prevent a collision stopped in front of the first tub and was overpowered. The pony had no control over the full tubs as it was working in gears and not in limmers.
