19 September 1923: Fatal Result of Fife Pit accident - Thomas Michie, miner, Mayflower Street, Townhill, Dunfermline, died yesterday from the effects of an accident which occurred at Townhill colliery on Tuesday. While he was engaged at his working face, a stone, weighing about two tons, fell without warning from the roof, striking him on the head.
