- Details of Event
- Deceased was going outbye between his horse and a tub of dirt to which it was attached, down a gradient of 1 in 19, when the tub collided with the wheels of an empty tub which was turned upon its side, and the full tub was derailed. It came in contact with a post set on the opposite side of the road and struck it out. Deceased was heard to shout, and one of his mates ran forward and found him lying under the front part of his tub. He was liberated at once, walked out of the pit, and was conveyed thence to hospital, where he died three days later from pneumonia due to the accident.
