Deceased was at work at a dip heading 8 feet wide but the line of cleavage made the working face 13 feet long. The thickness of the seam was 6 feet 3 inches. Two shots had been fired but some of the coal was left standing erect. Deceased was engaged breaking up the coal and throwing it back to the loader, when he took away the front support of a thick slab which fell and caught him. He died on the way to the hospital.
