- Died August 30, While deceased was lifting an empty tub on to the rails he felt a pain in his abdomen and was sent by the rolleywaywan to change places with a trapper and he remained at the door until the end of his shift. In a day or two a doctor was called in and he was found to be suffering from appendicitis. On the 27th August an intestinal obstruction was diagnosed and he was operated on the 28th and died two days later. An inquest was held and medical evidence given as to the cause of death and the doctor said that the probability of the lifting of the tub causing the appendicitis was remote. The jury found that death was due to appendicitis, and there was no evidence of any injury having been received.
