- 9 November 1924: New Cumnock Miner Killed - While Alex. M'Naught. miner, was engaged at his work in Bank No.2 Pit, belonging to the New. Cumnock Collieries (Ltd.), he was caught by a fall from the roof and sustained terrible injuries. The unfortunate man died on his way to the Infirmary. [Scotsman 11 November 1924]
