31 March 1932: Denny Miner Killed - A miner, Patrick M'Menamy (31), residing at Broad Street, Denny, was fatally injured by a fall of stone from the roof while at work in the Larbert Dook Section of Woodyet Pit, Herbertshire Colliery, Denny, yesterday. The stone measured about 6 feet long, and weighed about half a ton. He died shortly after being extricated. M'Menamy leaves a widow and one child. [Scotsman 1 April 1932]
