- 16 January 1940: Fatal Mine Accident At Musselburgh - John M'Lean, a mining contractor of over 70 years of age, who resided at 72 Inveresk Road, Musselburgh, was killed, and James Cameron, miner (24), of St Clement's Crescent, Wallyford, near Musselburgh, received a broken leg in an accident in Carberry Colliery yesterday.
