The deceased was taking down head coal in a lift of a stoop when a fall caught and fastened his leg, and knocked out several props. Before he could be released a further fall buried him. A breathing space was made for hint by one of the rescuers, but a third fall completely covered him. When got out about three hours later life was extinct.
