Deceased was in the act of making up a abet, and, before putting the fuse into the pellet of powder. He took his knife to scrape the hole through which the fuse was to pass, and, in doing so, he caused some of the particles of gunpowder to fall on to the flame of his lamp. He was burned so severely on his hands and arms that he died on the 28th inst.
