He was assisting to charge a shot hole on a ledge 30 feet up from the quarry bottom, and, while doing so, a fall of rock occurred, and before he could clear himself he was struck by one or more pieces and thrown off the ledge to the bottom. The fall came from a part, which had stood in the same condition for about seven years, and fell away from a back, which was unknown.
