- 2 November 1922: Fatal Result of Denny Pit Accident. - The death took place in Denny and Dunipace Cottage Hospital yesterday of James M'Intosh, a pithead worker, who was admitted to the hospital last Saturday, suffering from injuries received while at work. M'Intosh, who is a son of George M'Intosh, 62 Broad Street, Denny, was employed at Woodyet Pit, Denny (Messrs R. Addie & Son.) The accident occurred when engaged removing wood at the pithead. Sundries – Two empty tubs laden with 75 boards 12 ft. long on the top of them were being pulled up a steep incline. Mcintosh was walking alongside when they fell over on him and crushed him internally. He died five days later. He ought not to have been walking beside this top heavy load.
