Roof fall. Andrew McGoogan (53), Miner, who resided at 53 D Fallin, met with a fatal accident while working at the coal face in Polmaise Colliery, Fallin, on Friday (16 November 1928). A fall of stone from the roof took place while he was engaged at the face and he was pinned to the ground. He was severely crushed about the body and also received a fracture of the leg. The accident took place at 12.30 pm in the afternoon and the unfortunate man was at once removed to the Royal Infirmary, Stirling where he died a few hours after admission. (Stirling Journal).
