16 February 1916: Lad Killed At Fauldhouse - During the gale in the Fauldhouse district on Wednesday, William M'Gilvray (14), whilst employed stacking wood at Greenrigg Pit, United Collieries was struck on the head by a sheet of corrugated iron, blown off the roof of the pithead, and was instantaneously killed.
