12 August 1921: Peculiar Fatality - An accident which resulted fatally occurred in the Aitken Pit, Kelty. Samuel M'Gee (21), a brusher, along with his father, had finished preparing a shot, and retired a safe distance until the shot firer attached the cable, when a piece from the shot struck Samuel with great force, rendering him unconscious.
