- 2 November 1929: Killed By A “Fall” - Edward M'Ghee (53), of 83 Mossblown, near Ayr, was killed on Saturday in No.1 Auchincruive colliery, while at work with other two men at a coal-cutting machine, by the fall of a huge stone from the roof of his working place. His companions could not remove the stone, and when they procured assistance and got M'Ghee out he was found to be dead. He leaves a widow and family of four. [Scotsman 4 November 1929]
