- Details of Event
- 16 February 1920: Fatality At Greenfield Colliery – John M'Farlane, 64 carter, 11 Craig Street, Blantyre, was accidentally killed at Greenfield Colliery on Monday. He was engaged loading coal from a waggon into his cart at the granary siding, when he jumped down to take charge of his horse, which had become restless. It shied and came round upon him, with the result that his head struck the buffer of a waggon and was pinned between the wheels of the cart and the cart body. Death occurred before he could be released. [Hamilton Advertiser 21 February 1920]
