- 22 October 1919: Bo'ness Pit Accident - As the result of an accident caused by a fall from the coal face, Michael H. M'Culloch (57), miner, Fordale Terrace, Carriden , has died in the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh. The accident occurred on Wednesday in the new pit to the rear of Bo'ness Dock, belonging to Carriden Coal Company. [Scotsman 24 October 1919]
A Fall Of Coal - Michael H M'Culloch, miner, in the employment of the Carriden Coal Company, has died from injuries received yesterday in the new pit situated to the rear of Bo'ness dock. A huge piece of coal weighing about a ton fell on M'Culloch. [Evening Times 23 October 1919]
