14 January 1915: Fatal Accident at a Cambuslang Colliery - Yesterday afternoon a fatal accident occurred in Gateside Colliery Cambuslang, owned by the Flemington Coal Company. Peter M'Court, miner, 77 Easterhill Street, Tollcross, was working with an electrically driven coal-cutting machine when he was accidentally caught in the machinery and sustained injuries from which he died shortly after admission to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
