Suffocated by firedamp, a rising place 25 yards up had been stopped working, air pipes disconnected by deceased, firedamp accumulated, found but not reported fenced off. Deceased went without lamp into the gas probably to knock to colliers approaching place downhill, his hammer found 17 yards up, proving distance he foolishly went, rescuing collier nearly lost his life.
