Details of Event
Died May 7th. While the deceased was walking outbye with his father about the 18th March, he struck his head against a balk end fell backwards. Nothing was thought of it at the time. On 8th May deceased was taken to the Newcastle Infirmary, and found to be suffering from meningitis, from which death resulted on 17th May. A post-mortem examination was made and medical evidence given at the inquest that the meningitis arose from natural causes and not from any accident, and so the Jury found.
