- Details of Event
- Deceased was brushing a road in a long wall working. The brushing which consisted of blaes fireclay and ironstone balls was too soft to require blasting and was usually taken down with the pick. He appeared to have shorn it along one side and to have been relieving a ball on the other side when a mass of fireclay fell upon him causing spinal and other injuries which resulted in his death six months later.
