Metalliferous Mines – On surface – Sundries - He overstrained himself while assisting some other workers to lift a mine wagon on to the rails after it had been derailed at a crossing. He worked until the middle of the second day afterwards, then went and consulted a doctor as he was not feeling well. The doctor told him to go to bed, which he did. He died seven weeks later from the effects of a strained heart.
