- Details of Event
- A journey of five trams was being lowered down an incline when the cross-bar of the front tram dropped and caught a bevel sheaf. The journey was stopped, and the roadman freed the crossbar. Directly this was done the tram ran down overtook deceased, who was running in front of it, and ran over both of his legs. The right leg was so badly smashed that it had to be amputated. He died the same day. The shackle pin was found broken in two, no doubt by the blow of the 4 trams when they blocked down against the first. It was a good deal crystallised. He was standing opposite a manhole.
