7 February 1924: Fife Miner Killed - Wm. Marshall, who resided at Main Street, West Wemyss, a man of about 30 years of age, was killed yesterday, while at work in the Victoria Pit, West Wemyss. Marshall was completely buried by a fall of coal from the roof, and when he was extricated life was found to be extinct. He was a married man, with three of a family. [Scotsman 8 February 1924]
