- Details of Event
- Falls in Mine (b) Falls of Roof – He was about to start a road out of a level and had erected a carrying bar across the entrance supported by a single centre prop. He then removed the centre props from the bars being carried, leaving all the weight on the centre prop. When he attempted to put a side leg under the carrying bar it caused the collapse of the timbering and a fall of five tons of roof, which killed him. The work was not being done in a workmanlike manner.
