- Details of Event
- Whilst travelling on the haulage level to return a hammer he had borrowed, the train started, he got into a manhole, the train stopped for some reason opposite the manhole, the hammer was found in this manhole, deceased was found outside the next manhole lying dead. The only reasonable explanation of the accident in is, when the train of tubs stopped opposite to a manhole, deceased leaned over the tubs, that the rope started suddenly and crushed him against the side before he realised that he was in danger. Ropes travel not more than 2 miles an hour.
