He had detached the rope from the front end of a load of full tubs on its arrival at the pit bottom when the second tub turned over and pinned him against the side fatally injuring him. The load had apparently come in at its usual speed and there was 4 feet clear space from the rails to the side. The rope should be detached automatically or when the tubs are at rest.
