A train of 22 full tubs left the pass-bye and went 111 yards up an engine plane rising 1 in 6 towards the shaft, when the haulage rope broke. The drag placed at the hack of the tubs failed to hold the train, and they ran back into the pass-bye where deceased was crushed between other full tubs when the runaway train ran into them.
