He was taking empty tubs forward, on December 29th last, by means of a lashing chain upon the endless rope with a detaching arrangement at the tub end. He was alone and stated that be deceased the tubs, put the ring of his lamp into his mouth, and got hold of the chain to take it off the rope when his light went out and at the same time his hand got fast between the chain and the rope, and he was dragged about 10 feet and then around a horizontal pulley, and back along the return rope for 16 feet when he fell to the ground. Died today.
