Deceased was killed by a fall of roof in the Little Coal in a breasting skirting a fall. Shortly before the accident a shot was fired in the coal at the buttock end after which two tubs of coal were filled and a tree set. Another tub was being filled when the tree was reeled out and deceased was buried by a fall 15ins thick. At one side of the fall was a slippery break. Probably the shot shook the roof which when the coal was removed gradually parted at this break until it suddenly fell.
