- 28 September 1920: Burning Fatality At Kilsyth - Donald Macdonald (24) underground colliery roadsman, Kilsyth, has succumbed to injuries received in Dumbreck Colliery, Kilsyth. He had gone into new workings to secure a pick and shovel when his naked light came into contact with an accumulation of gas and caused an explosion, and he was burned all over.
