16 December 1926: The death has taken place in Campbeltown Cottage Hospital, of Neil Macallister, Darlochan, near Campbeltown, as the result of an accident. Deceased was employed as a joiner, and handyman at the pit of the Campbeltown Coal Company. On Tuesday last he was working at the pithead, and was discovered lying unconscious on the ground. He had apparently fallen from a height of ten feet and, struck his head, but no one witnessed the occurrence, and deceased never regained consciousness. Death was due to concussion. Macallister was forty-five years of age. He leaves a widow and five children. [Scotsman 18 December 1926]
