15 August 1935: Limestone Miner Killed - Clippens Lime Works, Loanhead, was the scene of a fatal accident yesterday. While at work underground, John Lynch, aged 38, employed with the Shotts Iron Co. (Ltd.) as a fireman, was killed when a large quantity of material fell on him. Lynch, who lived at Harewood Terrace, Niddrie Mains, is survived by his wife and a young family.
