He had finished his shift on the screens and was about to go home, when he was seen to stretch over a driving shaft to get his bottle, which he had hidden under a tin plate, and while in this position his overcoat was caught by the shafting and he was carried round and killed. Although he was not supposed to go near the shafting the accident could not have occurred if it had been boxed in.
