2 April 1930: Curious Pit Fatality - A Lithuanian miner named Anthony Ludovicz died in Glasgow Royal Infirmary yesterday, from shocking injuries caused by detonators exploding in his pocket. While working in Shettleston Colliery, he stumbled and fell on the top of the detonators, the explosion of which badly shattered his right leg. [Scotsman 3 April 1930]
