- Details of Event
- Inspection made and inquest attended. Deceased was the contractor for ripping the roof in the roads and when a shot of ammonite was fired a stone struck the deceased at a distance of 18yd. He succumbed to the injuries on the 24th instant. The shot lighter had the battery around the corner in a safe position and appeared to have given deceased proper warning but he must have thought himself safe sitting by the side or the road. If he had gone behind the pack he would have been absolutely safe.
