- 26 December 1919: Blantyre - Miner's Peculiar Death - The police report the sudden death, under peculiar circumstances, of a young man named Andrew Lindsay, age 16½ years, which took place yesterday morning. Deceased was employed in Auchinraith Colliery, and he took suddenly ill and passed into a semi-conscious condition. He was removed with all haste to the pithead, but died just as he was being carried into the ambulance room. Dr M'Millan was in attendance but he could not determine the cause of death.
