Suffocated by fumes from exhaust of an oil engine. He and his comrade were repairing an air way into which the fumes from an oil-engine escaped owing to a fall of ground on the end of the pipes, the fumes worked back to where the men were at work. The comrade was rescued by the manager, who happened to pass that way, but the other man was dead.
