- 25 January 1929: Miner Killed at Woolmet - James Leithnoy, a mine brusher, was yesterday fatally injured by a fall of stone from the roof of the underground workings of Woolmet colliery, Millerhill, Midlothian. He was taken to the rescue station with all speed, but life was found to be extinct. Deceased was about 50 years of age, and unmarried. He belonged to Edinburgh. [Scotsman 26 January 1929]
